Charles Darwin was born in 1809 in Shrewsbury, Shopshire, England. He was an English Naturalist who was best known for his contributions to the science of evolution (Darwin’s Theory of Evolution). The religious victorian society was, at first, shocked when they heard of Darwin’s theory, the idea that humans and animals had common ancestry. Although professional scientists showed interest in the theory, and the idea soon grew in popularity. Today, Charles Darwin is recognized as a great naturalist, geologist, and scientist.
