Art or Alien?

Over the course of the last month, archaeologists have uncovered multiple metal monoliths. These monoliths are thin pieces of metal, between 10 and 12 feet tall. So far they have been found in the Netherlands, United States, and Romania. However, these aren’t the only places with suspicious large structures. There have also been alleged sightings in Spain, Germany, and Colombia. If this wasn’t mysterious enough, it gets even stranger.
Not only have these monoliths started appearing in random places, but they have also been disappearing. A monolith was found in Romania on November 28, 2020, and it went missing a few days later. This could be an artist that is starting some sort of movement or exhibiting their art, but people on the internet have started creating other theories, the most popular one being that aliens are placing these metal pieces everywhere, and then taking them back.
However, there is no proof to back up this theory and currently cannot be considered correct. Since the first monolith was found, hundreds of people have claimed it as their own, which seems unlikely due to the volume of people that were “behind” the stunt, the most notable being an anonymous art group labeled “The Most Famous Artist”. They are now selling “replicas” for 45,000 dollars. It is also entirely possible that people are lying about seeing these monoliths, or could be making their own and passing it off as “finding one”. In fact, in DC one was apparently found in the front yard of someone’s house, but the monolith was wooden, making it an outcast.
The problem with a discovery like this is that with so much publicity, many unproven claims pop up that are later disproved, and in the end the truth is never found.
What do you think? Art? Or proof of alien life?
